Our Process

Thoughtfully Made, From Raw Ingredients to Finished Product

At The Infused Tallow Co., our process is part of what makes our products different. We prepare our skincare in small batches, beginning with carefully sourced raw ingredients and continuing through rendering, infusion, formulation, pouring, labeling, and packaging.

We source grass-fed beef suet and render it into tallow ourselves. For oils, herbs, and botanicals, we select high-quality ingredients from proven U.S.-based distributors, choosing each one based on the role it plays in the final formula.

Our goal is to create skincare that feels traditional, intentional, and carefully made — not rushed, overcomplicated, or mass-produced.

1. Rendering the Tallow

Every formula begins with beef tallow. Tallow is the foundation of our skincare because of its rich, creamy texture and long history of use in traditional skin preparations.

We render and filter grass-fed beef suet into tallow with care. This step matters because the quality, texture, and finish of the tallow influence the final product.

We want our tallow to feel clean, smooth, and pleasant on the skin — rich without being overwhelming.

2. Slow Cold Infusion

Infusion is at the heart of our brand, and we believe it is one of our biggest differentiators.

Rather than adding herbs only for appearance or label appeal, we slowly cold-infuse selected herbs and botanicals into our tallow-based preparations over several weeks. This patient step is part of what gives our products their character and helps us create formulas that feel intentional, not rushed.

Our infusion process reflects the way we think about skincare: simple ingredients, handled with patience and purpose.

3. Oil-Based, Water-Free Formulas

Our products are oil-based and water-free. Rather than building formulas around water, emulsifiers, and unnecessary fillers, we focus on tallow, selected oils, botanical infusions, and ingredients that serve a clear purpose.

This matters because our products are designed around the ingredients we actually want on the skin. Tallow provides the foundation, while carefully chosen oils help refine texture, spreadability, and overall skin feel.

Because our products do not contain water, they are not diluted like many conventional creams and lotions. A small amount goes a long way, and the texture is intentionally rich, smooth, and nourishing.

4. Choosing the Right Ingredients for Each Formula

We do not use every ingredient in every product. Each formula is developed with a specific use, texture, and skin feel in mind.

For example, jojoba oil is often used to help refine texture, spreadability, and overall skin feel. Avocado oil, olive oil, rosehip seed oil, and other selected oils may be used depending on the product and desired finish. Rosehip seed oil is especially well suited for certain creams where a richer, more nourishing profile is desired.

We also choose herbs and botanicals based on the role they play in the formula. For example, calendula and chamomile are known for their gentle, comforting qualities. Rose is chosen for its toning qualities and delicate botanical character. Plantain has a long history of use in traditional skin preparations for dry or tender-feeling areas.

These are examples, not limits. Every product is formulated with intention, and every ingredient is chosen for a reason.

5. Careful Mixing, Not Whipping

We do not make whipped tallow creams.

Whipping creates a fluffy texture by adding air, but we prefer a denser, smoother finish that avoids unnecessary aeration and helps protect the integrity of the ingredients.

Our products are carefully mixed, poured, and finished in small batches. Each jar is meant to feel rich, substantial, and purposeful — not airy or overworked.

This approach reflects our preference for a more traditional formula with a smooth, stable-feeling texture.

6. Small-Batch Finishing

After infusion and formulation, each batch is poured, labeled, and packaged by us. We pay attention to texture, scent, consistency, and overall finish before the product reaches the customer.

We also use ingredients like vitamin E to help protect delicate oils and maintain the quality of our formulas.

Small-batch work takes more time, but it allows us to stay close to the product at every stage. That matters to us because we want every jar to reflect the care that went into making it.

Why It Matters

Our process is not about making skincare more complicated. It is about making it more intentional.

We believe good skincare can be simple, traditional, and beautiful when the ingredients are chosen carefully and the process is handled with patience. From grass-fed beef suet to rendered tallow, slow herbal infusion, water-free formulation, careful finishing, and final packaging, every step is part of creating products we are proud to share.
